Been busy, fellow deviants!

The semester was very stressful.  My family has fallen are economically hard times (as many are these days).  As a result, my school work ethic suffered.  I had to withdraw from a class I needed to take in order to student teach in the spring.  As you might expect, due to the fact that I have not passed said class, I cannot student teacher this up-and-coming semester.  Instead I am retaking the class I withdrew from as a course by special arrangement.  I had the support of two great professors who helped me to clearly see my options.  They told I could continue in the course I was struggling in, but the highest grade I could get would be a B-, and that would have been if I had gotten a perfect on all the remaining assignments.  I did not believe that was possible, thus the withdrawl.  Those same professors helped me to set up my course by special arrangement.  They are both good friends and mentors.  I am delighted to have a one-on-one learning experience with one of those said professors.  

Although withdrawing from that class was a heartbreak as it pushes my graduation date back a semester, there is a good thing about this turn of events.  In order to maintain my financial aid (which is very much needed), I needed to have a set number of semester hours.  Just taking one course by special arrangement would not meet the requirement, so I had to choose another class.  There were several options I considered.  I ended up choosing a painting class, since I wanted a relaxed studio setting.  I have not painted since high school, so I am little apprehensive.  The art professor at my university suggested I work in oils, so expect me to be posting some oil painting in the near future!

Some side notes:
- I attended Teslacon II, a steampunk convention located in Madison, Wisconsin.  It was amazingly good.  I highly recommend it.  Tickets are still available for Teslacon III.  Get them while they are hot--they sold out extremely quick last year!
- I am on Pottermore.  Although I am not entirely active, I am always looking for friends.  My username is ElmProphecy92.
- The reason why my current mood is "shitty" is because I am sick with a cold right now.  Just thought I would explain that... >_>
